The Eye of Self-Reflection

Jessie1

Drawing by Jessie Snoeijen

I have a theory and would love to hear anyone’s thoughts on the matter. For those striving to develop and grow personally, self-reflection is an important and vital part of that process. I wonder though, if there are stumbling blocks or blind hazards that hinder us throughout this process. If so, what is causing these hindrances? Are there thoughts and/or events from our past that create particular ideas in our head that encumber our thinking process to the point that we don’t even realize we are there?

This was true in my life; in fact, I wrote an entire book on the subject. I don’t believe I am an anomaly an am hoping to hear your thoughts. What do you think Patricia Romero, have there been realizations which you have experienced where you discovered the flaw in your thinking?

It is puzzling though how easy it is to see the flaws in others’ way of thinking. All of us could easily name 3 people who can’t seem to see a specific flaw in their character. But could we name 3 people who see a flaw in us? Jesus asked why do we look at the spec in our brother’s eye when we don’t notice the beam in our own?

I have my own theories but I would love hear yours Amanda Liberty along with anyone else. The Facebook page called VictoriousStruggle was started to help other overcome their battles. Please feel free to like and share your thoughts there as well.

It is possible that those thoughts may touch someone’s life and help them be able to get a better understanding of him or herself. Thank you and I look forward to your thoughts.
